How to split PDF
- Add your PDF by clicking the box above or dragging it in.
- Choose "One PDF per page" or "Custom page ranges" and enter ranges like 1-3, 4-6, 7-.
- Click "Split PDF" and download the parts one by one or all together as a ZIP.
When to split a PDF
Scanners and banks often produce one long PDF that contains several documents: a month of invoices, a stack of signed forms, or statements for different accounts. Splitting gives each its own file, ready to send or archive.
Splitting is also the easiest way to get under email and upload size limits: send a large report as several smaller parts instead of one huge attachment.
Good to know
- In ranges, "7-" means "from page 7 to the end" and each comma-separated range becomes its own file.
- To pull a few pages into a single new PDF instead, use Extract pages.

Frequently asked questions
Is it free to split a PDF?
Yes. You can split a PDF for free with up to 3 files at a time (up to 20 MB each), with no sign-up and no watermark. Pro removes the file limit, handles files up to 200 MB and processes whole batches into one ZIP.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Pdfverter runs entirely in your browser. Your PDFs are processed on your own device and never leave it, which makes it safe for contracts, bank statements, medical records and other confidential documents.
Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. Pdfverter works in any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) on desktop and mobile. There is nothing to install.
How do I split a PDF into individual pages?
Choose "One PDF per page" and click Split PDF. Every page becomes a separate PDF file, and you can download them all at once as a ZIP.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied exactly, without re-compressing anything, so text stays sharp and selectable.
